Second Year Degree Modules

A Term in the life of …..

I am in now in my second semester of my second year, studying a BA Hons Degree in Photography at The Creative School of the Arts, Carmarthen, Wales.

For our Professional Studies Module I have had to create a Blog, but as I am really not ready to have my own website yet – far too many images to take and re-take before I share that one, I have tried to create a blog which I can also use as a mini website in which to share my images. With this in mind, I am really throwing myself into this task and loving every minute of it – well, don’t we all love talking about ourselves, if truth be known.

This page will give you some idea of what our second year, second semester involves. Then as I work my way through it, I will be Blogging my way through my amazing accomplishments tasks and Blagging chit-chatting my way through the rest.

Module 1 – Professional Studies

  • PLAN & EXECUTE AN EXHIBITION
  • CREATE A BLOG
  • GET ACCEPTANCE INTO AN ONLINE LIBRARY

Module 2 – Creative Practice – Cinematic

  • TAKE SCREEN SHOTS FROM A RESEARCHED FILM AND RECREATE THREE OF THEM
  • TO A SET BRIEF PRODUCE A SERIES OF SIX IMAGES TO A NEGOTIATED SUBJECT

Module 3 – Contextual Studies

  • WRITE A 2000 WORD ESSAY WITH REFERENCES
  • CREATE A DICTIONARY JOURNAL TO ACCOMPANY THE ESSAY

That is basically our brief. I have written it just quickly from memory so I may update it to be more accurate at a later time, but, its very late now and I still have other work to do before I can crash. So a good night to all and I’ll go find some matchsticks to prop my little ‘ol eyelids open.
